How to save Periscope Video or Broadcast to your device or system

Posted by Unknown 3 Comments
Well, we all know that Periscope -Twitter’s live video streaming platform has the ability to store broadcasted videos only for 24 hours.They will then disappear. After the 24 hours limit  the video becomes unavailable to watch or the public link is gone. Sometimes you might wanted to watch the video after the public link is gone, an unable to find it. No worries, we will guide you on how to store or save your Periscope videos to yous devices or systems by just following the simple instructions below;

Please note, you can save the stream onto your device, if you (a) remember to do that, and (b) have enough storage left. You can choose to have all streams saved by default, which does mean that point (b) would quickly become a truism!

How to save a Periscope Video

There are two ways you can save a Periscope broadcast. One is the Auto Save and the other is Manual.

Periscope Auto Saving.

To automatically save all video streams to your camera roll:

#Navigate to the People Tab.
#Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner
#From your Profile page, tap Settings.
#Turn on ‘Autosave Broadcasts.’

Once you're done, your broadcast should be available in your Camera Roll (iOS) or Gallery or Video app (depending on your Android device).

If you weren't able to change your settings before starting your broadcast, you might be able to save the replay using QuickTime if the broadcast was created within the last 24 hours.

Periscope Manual Saving

After ending a broadcast, tap ‘Save to Camera Roll’ or 'Save to Gallery' on the information panel to download the video stream to your phone. (Android users - depending on your Android device, the broadcast might save in your gallery or your video app. Periscope will not save directly to a SD card.)

Only your video stream is saved -- chats and hearts are not.

On iOS, if your broadcast replay has not yet expired and is still playable in app, you can visit this web page to learn how to record your iPhone screen using QuickTime Player on Mac OS Yosemite.

On Android, visit this web page to record your screen.

How to Record Periscope Broadcasts on iOS or Save Videos From Anyone

What you will need:
A Mac computer (I haven’t tested it on a PC, probably works as well)
Quick Time (it’s included on the Mac software bundle)

Steps:
# Connect your iPhone with the USB cable into your Mac. (Allow any permissions requested, if any). If your iPhone has the Mute button on (in red), put it back to its normal state (Mute off).
#Open QuickTime.
#Click File menu, then click New Movie Recording (QuickTime opens).
#Click on the arrow next to the Record button and select your iPhone from the list in both Camera and Microphone sections.
#Open the Periscope app and click on any of the Replays or Broadcasts you would like to record from others.
#Once you are ready to record, click the Record button on the QuickTime app and then click Play in your iPhone on the selected broadcast.
#When you are ready to save the video from QuickTime, just click on the File menu, then click on Export and finally click on the resolution you would like to save the video you have recorded.

Periscope Broadcasts Live on Twitter

Posted by Unknown
Since Periscope launched last year, and take over by Twitter people have created over 100 million live broadcasts. Today, both Twitter and Periscope show you what’s going on in the world, right now — whether that’s outside your window or across the globe.  Twitter is making it easier to see what’s happening by bringing Periscope broadcasts - both live and replays directly into Twitter Tweets.Starting from January 12, 2016 with iOS app, Periscope broadcasts in Twitter timelines offer a new way to experience the world, giving Periscope broadcasters a window to a massive new audience.  This feature might not be directly available right now, it might be available for iOS users with the next few days.

With this new upadte users will be able to watch Periscope broadcasts without leaving the Twitter App. According to some insider similar feature is also coming to Android and the Web soon.

This latest Periscope update will make video more accessible to Twitter users and will make the Twitter audience more accessible to broadcasters.

Here is what Periscope had to say about this new feature:
We’ve always wanted to make it as easy as possible to watch and broadcast live video. See the world through someone else’s eyes — that’s been our mission since day one. Today, we’re bringing this vision directly into Twitter by making it possible to watch broadcasts without leaving the Twitter app.

Since launch, there have been over 100 million broadcasts created on Periscope. Whenever a broadcast is shared on Twitter, you tap the link to open the Periscope app. Today, we’re replacing those links with the broadcast itself, autoplaying right within the Tweet. And when you tap the video, it goes full-screen and shows Periscope comments and hearts from other viewers. You don’t  need the Periscope app or even a Periscope account.

Imagine scrolling through Twitter, reading about Mitch Oates’ underwater adventures. You suddenly find yourself peering through a hole in your timeline out into his world, via his live broadcast. This adds a whole new dimension to Twitter.

Periscope, has been named Apple's App of the Year for the year 2015, which is growing its users since it was was purchased by Twitter for a reported $100 million in March 2015. Last March 26, 2015, Twitter officially relaunched the application on iOS version of Periscope in March this year and now, the live video streaming app is also available on Android.

Twitter’s new live broadcasting app Periscope is a useful app for people who want to broadcast their videos to friends and family or to the public.

Periscope Web Profiles. What is my Periscope Web Profile?

Posted by Unknown
The popular social live streaming platform Periscope has launched a new updates and this time it has made it easier to find and revisit broadcasts outside of its own application. Like any other social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter each and every Periscope user now has a home on the web that includes a basic profile as well as any active and recently-concluded live streams.

Here’s what Periscope team had to say about the updates in their blog post:

“Periscope web profiles are finally here! Go to periscope.tv/username to see all the recent broadcasts for any Periscoper. If Sam Sheffer is live, you’ll never again have to scramble to find the link to his broadcast. You can just go to periscope.tv/SamSheffer. We think it’s really important for broadcasters to have a home on the web, and today’s launch is just the beginning.”

Periscope’s desktop experience has been a nightmare since it launched, complicated URLs which has to be assessed through automatic generated shared links. After introducing the landscape mode, the company seems to be making other changes as well.

Launch in March as a mobile video live-streaming app, the Twitter-owned network has steadily added more features. Periscope announced in August that it had surpassed 10 million registered users, and that it was streaming more than 350,000 hours of video every single day.

In last June, it gave people the ability to watch replays on the desktop, and although you need to use the iOS or Android app to access the entire network’s features this update should be a welcome one for streamers and viewers alike. Periscope still only keeps archived live streams for 24 hours, which means that the new web profiles only feature the most recent content of any broadcaster. Hopefully this 24-hour limit will be the next thing to change.

How do I share Periscope broadcasts I'm watching? How to share Periscope Broadcasts?

Posted by Unknown
Since its takeover by Twitter, Periscope has taken the video world by storm these last few months. With 1 million users in its first 10 days, many people haven’t been this excited about social media since Twitter’s debut. Though some data shows a lack of awareness about Periscope in comparison to platforms like Vine or Snapchat, more and more users are joining. Many Periscope users have also seen a steady increase in followers, especially after Periscope for Android was available.

If you aren't familiar with Persicope yet -- it is a new live video streaming app launched by Twitter.  You may check out our previous post on....

The unique thing about Periscope (or its competitor Meerkat) is the ability for anyone to broadcast anywhere in the world. In literally a push of a button - you are broadcasting to whomever wants to tune in or to a group of people.

How do I share Periscope broadcasts I'm watching?

Why do you bother about sharing? Well, Sharing is a good way of sharing contents with you friends, the more you share means the more interactions you have with your friends and also helping the broadcasters as well by generating more followers.

How to Switch between multiple Twitter Accounts on the Periscope App?

Posted by Unknown
Make sure you have the latest version of Periscope on your device first. You can signup for multiple Periscope accounts if you have multiple Twitter accounts. In iOS and Android, you can switch between Twitter accounts by logging out and back in and choosing which account you want to use.

If you don't see the account you want to sign in with, you might not be logged into your Twitter account through the Twitter app or your Twitter settings.  You would need to update your account on your device if this is the case.

To add an account to your Twitter app:
 1. Open the app on your device
 2. Click on the "Me" tab in iOS. In Android, tap the "..." and tap on your profile.
 3. At the top of your profile, tap the multiple accounts icon next to "Edit Profile"
 4. Scroll to the bottom and tap the '+' icon or 'Manage Accounts' where you'll have the ability to add a new account
 5. Enter your Twitter credentials and the account will be added to your list of logged in accounts

For iOS, if the account already appears in your list of accounts, try updating your Twitter settings on your device:
 1. Go to 'settings' on your device
 2. Scroll down and go to 'Twitter'
 3. Click on the account you want to sign into your Periscope with
 4. If the account is not there, you will need to 'Add Account'
 5. Ensure the correct username is shown if not, edit it
 6. Enter your Twitter password even if it's already showing to ensure it's up to date
 7. Click 'done'

How to change Periscope username or display name?

Posted by Unknown 6 Comments
Periscope, the live video broadcasting and streaming service which Twitter acquired earlier this year, has reached another milestone,  it now has more than 10 million registered accounts within four months.  Periscope has grown quite a lot since it was formally bought by Twitter, outpacing its biggest rival, Meerkat. However, out of the total 10 million registered users it has only 1.9 million daily active users on iOS and Android devices. And apparently the Periscope team is more focused on a different metric: total time watched per day. As of now, its users watch 40 years of video every day.

With this milestone, Periscope brings another update for its users. The update brings in features some of which should have been there since day one, like being able to change your profile picture.  And now with this new updates, Periscope users are now allowed to change their profile photo or image and edit their username. The update also ups usability of the app. It's now easier to reply to comments and is equally easy to see replies to you. The chatrooms also now broadcast when someone has been blocked for one reason or another. Periscope says it's to increase transparency and accountability, perhaps to prevent chatroom owners from going into a power trip.

Here we provide you a step by step guide on how to change your username, bio and how to edit your profile picture.

How to change Periscope username or display name?

With the newest versions of Periscope, you're able to edit your display name (not username)! Just go to your People tab > Profile Page > Edit icon.

Editing your Twitter username will not change your Periscope username. But, your Periscope will stay connected to the Twitter account it was originally created with. Unfortunately, we're not able to detach or change out Twitter accounts at this time. Deleting your Periscope will not free up the @username or Twitter account you originally used so you can use it for another account.

If you'd just like to create a second Periscope account with a different Twitter handle, you can log out by going to your Periscope profile (top right corner when you're on the People Tab) and scroll to the bottom. There, you can log out and can create another account using a different Twitter account.

How to edit your Periscope profile?

To edit your Periscope bio in iOS and Android, click the Profile icon in the top right corner on the People Tab. Tap the edit icon on the top right.

You'll be able to edit your photo, display name and edit your bio inline. We currently don’t support the ability to edit your username

How to change Periscope profile photo?

1. Updating your Twitter photo. Once you change your photo on Twitter, log out of your Periscope account and log back in. When you log back in, the new photo will show up on your profile. If you've already changed your Twitter photo since signing up, try logging out and logging back in to Periscope to see the changes.

2. Update the photo in Periscope. You can change your profile photo by going to your profile page and tapping on your profile photo. You'll be prompted to update your photo by picking one from your camera roll/gallery or taking one with your camera. Once you do this, you won't be able update your profile photo through Twitter anymore.
