Periscope Broadcasts Live on Twitter

Posted by Unknown
Since Periscope launched last year, and take over by Twitter people have created over 100 million live broadcasts. Today, both Twitter and Periscope show you what’s going on in the world, right now — whether that’s outside your window or across the globe.  Twitter is making it easier to see what’s happening by bringing Periscope broadcasts - both live and replays directly into Twitter Tweets.Starting from January 12, 2016 with iOS app, Periscope broadcasts in Twitter timelines offer a new way to experience the world, giving Periscope broadcasters a window to a massive new audience.  This feature might not be directly available right now, it might be available for iOS users with the next few days.

With this new upadte users will be able to watch Periscope broadcasts without leaving the Twitter App. According to some insider similar feature is also coming to Android and the Web soon.

This latest Periscope update will make video more accessible to Twitter users and will make the Twitter audience more accessible to broadcasters.

Here is what Periscope had to say about this new feature:
We’ve always wanted to make it as easy as possible to watch and broadcast live video. See the world through someone else’s eyes — that’s been our mission since day one. Today, we’re bringing this vision directly into Twitter by making it possible to watch broadcasts without leaving the Twitter app.

Since launch, there have been over 100 million broadcasts created on Periscope. Whenever a broadcast is shared on Twitter, you tap the link to open the Periscope app. Today, we’re replacing those links with the broadcast itself, autoplaying right within the Tweet. And when you tap the video, it goes full-screen and shows Periscope comments and hearts from other viewers. You don’t  need the Periscope app or even a Periscope account.

Imagine scrolling through Twitter, reading about Mitch Oates’ underwater adventures. You suddenly find yourself peering through a hole in your timeline out into his world, via his live broadcast. This adds a whole new dimension to Twitter.

Periscope, has been named Apple's App of the Year for the year 2015, which is growing its users since it was was purchased by Twitter for a reported $100 million in March 2015. Last March 26, 2015, Twitter officially relaunched the application on iOS version of Periscope in March this year and now, the live video streaming app is also available on Android.

Twitter’s new live broadcasting app Periscope is a useful app for people who want to broadcast their videos to friends and family or to the public.
