Periscope Web Profiles. What is my Periscope Web Profile?

Posted by Unknown
The popular social live streaming platform Periscope has launched a new updates and this time it has made it easier to find and revisit broadcasts outside of its own application. Like any other social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter each and every Periscope user now has a home on the web that includes a basic profile as well as any active and recently-concluded live streams.

Here’s what Periscope team had to say about the updates in their blog post:

“Periscope web profiles are finally here! Go to periscope.tv/username to see all the recent broadcasts for any Periscoper. If Sam Sheffer is live, you’ll never again have to scramble to find the link to his broadcast. You can just go to periscope.tv/SamSheffer. We think it’s really important for broadcasters to have a home on the web, and today’s launch is just the beginning.”

Periscope’s desktop experience has been a nightmare since it launched, complicated URLs which has to be assessed through automatic generated shared links. After introducing the landscape mode, the company seems to be making other changes as well.

Launch in March as a mobile video live-streaming app, the Twitter-owned network has steadily added more features. Periscope announced in August that it had surpassed 10 million registered users, and that it was streaming more than 350,000 hours of video every single day.

In last June, it gave people the ability to watch replays on the desktop, and although you need to use the iOS or Android app to access the entire network’s features this update should be a welcome one for streamers and viewers alike. Periscope still only keeps archived live streams for 24 hours, which means that the new web profiles only feature the most recent content of any broadcaster. Hopefully this 24-hour limit will be the next thing to change.
