Periscope Viewer Settings

Posted by Unknown
Everyone’s talking about Periscope right now – and with good reason. This fun new app is giving people an easy way to share videos for well, pretty much any reason! If you’re using Periscope for business – or want to – here is a tutorial, you’ll find everything you need to know on how to set Periscope viewer settings.

How do I share Periscope broadcasts I'm watching?

You can share live broadcasts with your Periscope followers by swiping right on iOS and tapping Share. You'll be able to share with specific people on your follower list or with all your followers.

You can share a broadcast you're watching on Twitter or copy and past the link to your clipboard on iOS! Swipe up and tap Share. You'll then be able to tweet out a link to the broadcast or share in an email or other social media.

How do I chat on Periscope?

Interacting with the broadcasts is one of the great things about Periscope. All you have to do is tap on the "Say something" prompt on the bottom of the screen and you'll be able to type your thoughts and questions!

If you want to reply to a specific viewer, just tap on their comment and you'll be able to reply directly to them!

Easy peasy.

Why are Periscope broadcasts full for chatting?

Sometimes broadcasts are so popular that it's tough to get in on the conversation. Although there's no specific limit set, getting in on chat will depend on the network conditions of the broadcaster and viewers and how early you join the broadcast.

How to hide chat during a live Periscope broadcast?

Both broadcasters and viewers can hide chat during a broadcast by swiping right in iOS or swiping up in Android and tapping ‘Hide Chat.’

When you hide chat during a live broadcast, you won’t be able to see any comments, though others will continue to send and see them. Note: all comments will be viewable in replay (you can also hide chat while watching a replay). You can unhide chat at any time.

How to change the language of Periscope on the Web?

We've localized Periscope for Web to support 33 languages. If you watch broadcasts in a browser and you see a different language, you may need to change your browser settings.  Here's how:

Internet Explorer. When you install a copy of Internet Explorer version, your preferences are automatically set based on your Windows settings.

To change your language preferences go to Tools > Internet Options > General (tab) > Languages > Language preference.
Firefox. To change your language preferences go to Tools > Options (Windows) or Firefox > Preferences (Mac OS X), and select Content (tab) > Languages > Choose (button).

Safari. On Mac OS X the language is specified in the OS X system language preferences. To change those preferences go to System Preferences > Language & text > Language.

Google Chrome. To change your language preferences go to Options (Windows) or Chrome > Preferences (Mac OS X), and select Show Advanced Settings > Languages

Opera. On Windows you can change your language preferences at Menu > Settings > Preferences > General > Language > Details (button).
