Watch Periscope Replays on the Web

Posted by Unknown
Since the takeover by Twitter, Periscope has become quite popular and receives massive downloads during the recent months. It is too early to say whether or not it’s going to feature great content but we have seen some really impressive fridges in the past few days so it does have potential. The app is still in its early days and Twitter didn’t go crazy trying to incorporate every single feature imaginable so there’s still plenty missing from the Periscope app. As Periscope is being adopted by more media and entertainment personalities, it's rapidly building out a feature set that supports them.

The live broadcasts is one thing that needs improvement and there isn’t a search feature just yet. On Periscope is a service that lists all broadcasts that are live or that have ended on Periscope.

The most common complaint has been that they end before you could watch them. Periscope did enable replays within 24 hours after a stream ended, but only on its apps for Android and iOS. Isn't it annoying when you click a Periscope link only to find out the stream ended mere minutes ago? It's a common complaint, but now Twitter has a solution with the launch of web replays. Just click a link to a Periscope stream, and once the page opens in your browser, you can hit the play button to re-live the stream.

Open Periscope in your mobile browser, you can use Chrome, or Safari or whatever other browsers are available for iOS. Scroll through the list of live broadcasts and tap on ‘Open in iOS’ to view one that interests you. At the end of the list of live broadcasts are all broadcasts that have ended.

For newbie if you don’ t know where to find Periscope live streams

Navigate to the Watch Tab by clicking the TV icon. At the top of the tab you will see live broadcasts of public video streams. Recently featured broadcasts will appear directly below (as marked by the yellow ‘Featured’ label), with broadcasts from people you follow below that. When you scroll to the bottom of this tab and tap on ‘View All Recent Broadcasts,’ you’ll see all broadcasts from the last 24 hours, with the most recent at the top. You will only be able to watch those videos that have been saved for replay. After 24 hours, broadcasts expire and will no longer appear in the Watch Tab.
